Dwile Flonking World Championships 2013

Postby TudorRose » Tue Jan 08, 2013 2:59 pm

The 2013 Dwile Flonking World Championships will take place on Saturday 3rd August at The Dog Inn, Ludham Bridge, Norfolk.

Reigning Champions The Jolly Rogers have vowed to return to defend their title but are you brave enough to take them on?

Teams of 10 are invited from Rugby Clubs, Morris Men, Football Teams or just groups of friends etc.

This is your chance to take part in an event which gains interest from all around the world.

Hopefully we will be tying this in with the 'event week' at Ludham Bridge which will include the charity duck race, BBQ, boat jumble, music etc plus we are hoping to have a few suppliers selling old stock etc. (Maybe even a DIY maintenance course etc etc). LBBY will be able to provide more details on this.

Camping facilities are available on the Dog's field so come along and make it a fantastic holiday break.

Contact NBO for more details on the Dwile Flonking or Ludham Bridge Boatyard for more details on the 'event week'.

Jolly Rogers are definately still up for the challenge this year. :pir:

AND.... I have received an email from a team calling themselves 'The Norfolk Flonkers' who will also be joining in. Apparently they have played before, so could this be serious competition? :Oh

Hi Admin (ner)

can one take it you are going to bring the Forums new very posh Pavilion with you

to keep us poor souls dry .ph.

Im still sulking though,
cos i wanted to help pay for it but it seems over the last 3 years a few pennies have been .put aside from doos and raffles,

to buy it.

Once again many thanks for sticking to your ethos of it really being a free site, and not taking any donations, from members and advertising is free to Broadland Enterprises .clap.

Cheese and wine this year in the dry blimey that will be a first.

As for the Flonking i will just watch.

Indeed NBO are now the proud owners of a new marquee (or rather Grand Pavillion) :Oh :wow

The new Pavillion will be on view at The Dog, Ludham Bridge for the Dwile Flonking World Championships on the first Saturday (If Lorraine & Geoff don't mind) but...............

Admin Island will be open for a Cheese & Wine Party earlier in the year when we will practice putting it up. :Oh

Date of C & W TBA but suggestions of available dates requested from all invited, which means YOU YOU and YOU xxxxxxxxxx ;W .k.

15th or 22nd June looks good for us. :wow

I do hope there is not going to be a lot of undue noise at this

event,
after all we would not like to spoil the peace and quiet of a small Nofolk hamlet would we.

In this day and age of every body wanting near silence.

Hi all,
I'm hoping to make it to the Dwile Flonking world championships at the beginning of August, possibly with my sister (now named Minnie Mynah) and we wondered two things. Is the sport all male? Is there a ladies team? and What are the chances of being able to take part as a participant? OK, that's three things!

Roy,
Uni sex is an enjoyable pastime had whilst benefitting from advanced education. Unisex is something enjoyed by both sexes. You in a dress is neither, and not an image on which I wish to dwell. But many thanks for the reply and the info :-) .clap.
